Ducati and Aprilia have announced urgent recalls in the USA across a range of bikes which are equipped with possibly defective Brembo front brake master cylinders.

Piaggio says some 1856 Aprilia machines sold to American customers could be affected. These comprise 2016-17 Aprilia RSV4 1000 and 2017 Aprilia Tuono 1100 models.

Ducati’s numbers are much larger, potentially involving around 8000 bikes. It lists certain 2015-2018 1299cc products (including STD, S, FE and SL models), Monster 1200cc (including S and R variants), Multistradas (including S and PP models), Panigale R, XDaviel S and 2017-2018 Scrambler 800 Café Racers.

Their respective US dealer networks are being lined up to replace master cylinder pistons. It is anticipate that the same solution will be applied to much larger quantities sold by the manufacturers in Europe.
