In inaugural Shelsley Walsh Bike Festival took place on Sunday 13 September and organisers hailed it a roaring success. Several thousand visitors flocked to Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb, Worcestershire, for an action-packed day where rare classic, modern and famous motorcycles took to the historic hill climb course. All proceeds went to the local Bloodbike group Severn Freewheelers.

One of the festival highlights was the Madmax Race Team and its streetfighter bike Madmax, which took to the hill in spectacular fashion in a dramatic plume of smoke. The Madmax currently holds a land speed record for the world’s first jet turbine streetfighter street-legal motorbike, having set a record of 224.9mph from a standing start.

Off track, the paddock featured a display of historic, modern and race bikes, stunt show, passenger ride experiences, trade stands plus entertainment. The event was supported by Blade Motorcycles’ Stratford centre.
