Helping Shark Helmets celebrate its 30th anniversary is one Scott Redding. Shark has supported the Gloucester racer since his early racing career, right back to his mini moto days.

Redding and the British Superbike Championship head to Donington Park on 4-6 October for the penultimate round of the national championship in which the number 45 has a 14-point lead over closest rival and teammate Josh Brookes.

Rewind to 2008, when Redding became the youngest ever Grand Prix winner – at the time – aged just 15 years and 170 days old at Donington Park. Not only this but he became the first British rider ever to win a British round of any Grand Prix class since the British Motorcycle Grand Prix moved to the mainland in 1977 – it was only his eighth GP!

Shark Helmets UK technical manager Mark Eilledge said: “This upcoming weekend at Donington is a great opportunity for us to look back at the history we have with Scott and celebrate what an amazing season he’s had so far in the British Superbike Championship. It will be fantastic to see him back at Donington Park riding a track he has so many memories on. It ties in nicely too with the 30th anniversary of Shark – he was just 15 when he won and Shark is now 30, so added together it makes 45 – his race number!

"Shark wishes Scott lots of luck in the remaining rounds in the showdown!"
