Main Duties
Achieving high levels of personal and company sales, from our central Derbyshire premises, by rapidly responding to and communicating effectively with our numerous existing and newly enquiring customers (both verbally by telephone and in written form - with occasional face-to-face contact with those choosing to collect pre-orders from our premises) to gain a thorough understanding of their individual needs to ensure they purchase the most appropriate upgrades for their bikes from us.

Assisting customers who contact us for support and advice about products already purchased from us or – when appropriate – sourced elsewhere.

Assist with the arrival and inspection of products delivered from suppliers.

Essential Personal Attributes will include

  • Being an active motorcyclist with a lifelong interest in bikes
  • Having a wide existing knowledge of aftermarket mechanical, electrical and electronic accessories
  • Possessing excellent technical knowledge and experience of maintaining, modifying, improving and/or restoring motorcycles with solid practical workshop and diagnostic skills
  • Effective communications skills – verbal and written – for efficient contact with customers, suppliers and colleagues
  • A friendly, helpful, upbeat and positive attitude with the ability to work effectively within a small and integrated specialist team

Advantageous Attributes

  • Bike trade experience
  • Previous sales role experience
  • Racing/track riding skills and experience
  • Be familiar with use of main social media for business communications
  • Competence with common personal computer applications for email and internet, etc.

Other aspects of the role may include:

  • Processing internet/web sales orders
  • Gathering collating and filing supplier / product information and motorcycle models’ history and technical data
  • Keeping up to date with new products and passing on / highlighting any issues or listing changes that require updating or rectifying on internal and external systems  
  • Maintaining regular contact with journalists to discuss and place products for testing and monitoring editorial content generated
  • Monitoring the progress of inbound stock orders from key manufacturers of whose products we import and distribute
