The classic Harrington design was originally developed for golfers, but it was popularised by the likes of Elvis Presley, Steve McQueen and James Dean wearing them onscreen. Oxford’s biking version recreates the classic look but adds in biking-specific features such as a laminated waterproof outer shell, taped seams and elasticated material for easier movement. CE-level 1 protectors are fitted at the elbows and shoulders and an optional back protector can be included. It comes in green or black in sizes S-5XL at an SRP of £129.99.
For those who prefer a longer jacket, the Heritage Tech is a traditional belted four-pocket design which comes with a waterproof liner and a removable WarmDry thermal liner. The shell is made of dry wax cotton with nylon overlays and there are CE protectors fitted at the elbows and shoulders and the option of a back protector. Other thoughtful touches include no snap fasteners on the front to protect paintwork, a side-entry poachers’ pocket on the rear and a removable neck belt. Available in black or navy blue in sizes S-5XL at £199.99.
Third in the range is the wet-waxed cotton Holwell. It features traditional pleated pockets and an Oxford lining. There’s also a waterproof membrane to keep the weather out, and triple stitching in key areas to add strength. It comes in men’s sizes S - 5XL or ladies’ sizes 8 - 20 in black, green or red.
