FIRST-QUARTER SALES DOWN AT DUCATI

Extremely minimal details of Ducati’s business performance during the first quarter of 2017 have been made available in an otherwise comprehensive 56-page Volkswagen Group interim report covering the period. BDN financial editor Roger Willis gleaned only two salient facts from this document.

Ducati global sales volume in the first three months of this year fell by 18.5% to 14,130 motorcycles. Associated revenue was 24.7% down to £120.8m. VW said other key indicators relating to the brand (such as operating profit or loss) were incorporated into data covering its Audi subsidiary — which directly administers the Italian bike manufacturer.
