BOBBER BOBS TO THE TOP

Triumph’s uber-retro Bonneville Bobber has claimed status as the most successful new model launch ever for the brand in US and Canadian markets. According to Triumph Motorcycles America, more customers took delivery of Bobbers in the initial 30 days of availability than any previous bike in its history.

Riding on the back of a Bonneville Bobber Brutal Beauty Tour promotion, featuring more than 50 dealership presentations throughout the US and Canada, the machine helped push an overall 15% rise in Triumph’s American sales volume during the first quarter of 2017.   

“This is a great start to what is sure to be another retail record year for our dealers,” said Triumph Motorcycles America chief operating officer Matt Sheahan. “And we’re excited to see that customers are as enthusiastic about our new motorcycles as we are. I’m one of a few Triumph employees that already bought a Bobber and I can’t wait to get home and ride it!”

Presumably that final statement, coming from a senior executive who has unbridled long-term access to a huge shedful of demonstrators, is for public rather than trade consumption.
