CLIFFORD BECOMES POLARIS BIKE EXPORT SUPREMO

US powersports manufacturer Polaris has elevated British expatriate and former Triumph staffer Ross Clifford to the role of vice-president and general manager of the company’s export activities relating to its Indian, Victory and Slingshot motorcycle brands. He had been appointed a director in this “international on-road” sector five months ago.

Clifford worked at Triumph for a decade until 2005 — latterly as product development manager — before crossing the Atlantic to begin his ascent of the managerial greasy pole at Polaris. His previous experience in the US included a year as chief executive of Triumph Motorcycles America spanning 1996-1997.
