The Dunlop SportSmart TT was declared “best handling tyre” in a dry track test by German biker magazine PS. The tyre, launched last year, was designed for both track day and road riders. It scored 28 out of 30 points. The TT was rated first for steering precision and also topped the rankings for stability under braking – two of the most important criteria for track day riders.
In a MOTORRAD magazine test the Dunlop RoadSmart III went a step further to be confirmed as overall winner in a comparison of sport touring tyres.
MOTORRAD praised the breadth of the Roadsmart III abilities. “It completes our final test on the mountain route and the later stability test at autobahn speeds with great success. In curves, its handling abilities were top-level”.
Dunlop launches its new Geomax MX33 off-road tyre next week. The MX33 builds on the MX3S (MX32) and “aims to improve where its predecessor left off”.
Dunlop Geomax tyres are the choice of race winners in the FIM World Motocross Grand Prix Championship (MXGP). In 2017, top level riders such as Shaun Simpson and Clement Desalle chose Dunlop to win MXGP races.
Last year, Dunlop tested new technologies in MXGP races. A revised tread pattern was tested with tie-bars between shoulder blocks.
Meanwhile, readers of German automotive magazine Motorsport Aktuell and biker publication PS have voted Liqui Moly as their favourite oil brand. The votes bring the number of accolades this year to six, with readers of Auto Motor und Sport, Auto Bild, Auto Zeitung and Motor Klassik all voting for Liqui Moly.
