ITALIAN BIKE SALES BOUNCE BACK

With an enormous sigh of relief, no doubt, Italian powered two-wheeler industry association ANCMA has released some muscular registration figures for June.

Total numbers during the month rose by 35.2% to 41,605. The combined tally of over-50cc scooters and motorcycles plated by dealers in Italy was 37.3% up at 39,078. Mopeds added 9.1% to 2527.

Of course, January-June statistics weren’t so pretty, given a complete collapse in April’s lockdown. Overall registrations across the first half of this year sank by 22.7% to 114,801. Scooters were 22.4% lower at 58,833. Motorcycles fell by 23.8% to 48,066. Mopeds lost 17.4% on 7902.
