MORE SALES RECORDS FOR BMW

BMW Motorrad has reported its best-ever sales in a first quarter and its highest monthly sales on record during March.

For the first three months of 2014, the brand’s global retail sales grew by 16.1 per cent to a total of 28,719 motorcycles and maxi-scooters. March was up by 16.2 per cent to 15,183 units.

BMW Motorrad head of sales and marketing Heiner Faust commented: “The positive result was due to the high level of demand worldwide. The first quarter was pleasing in Europe too. The southern European markets are seeing significant growth as compared to the previous year. The strongest individual market continues to be Germany, followed by the US, France, Italy, Brazil and Spain. Based on this excellent quarterly result we have positive expectations of the upcoming months.”
