production to be phased in at earthquake factory

Honda has decided partially to resume production at its Kumamoto Factory on 6 May, despite a fresh earthquake today. The factory, at Ozu-machi, Kikuchi-gun, Kumamoto Prefecture, has been closed since 16 April following an earthquake measuring 7 on the Richter scale.

Production will be phased in and the factory is expected to be fully operational by mid-August.

There have been two earthquakes in the region in the past two weeks, the most recent one taking place today and measuring 4.8.
