registrations rise in eu's largest markets

Motorcycle registrations in the largest EU markets – France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK – grew by 8.6% during the first six months of 2016, compared to the same period of 2015, reaching more than 442,000 units.

According to the latest data from ACEM, the strongest performance was recorded in Italy (+15.9%, 116,985 units), followed by Spain (+13.5%, 73,323 units). Registrations also increased in Germany (+4.2%, 100,749 units) and France (+1.7%, 89,153 units).

Acem quote UK registrations as up 8.3% at 61,859. The MCIA figures are: motorcycles (+8.4%, 61,363 units); total registrations: (+7.4%, 66,009).

Acem motorcycle figures for the month of June are as follows: Italy (25,164 +17.5%), Germany (18,226 +9.5%), Spain (14,015 +5.6%), France (17,142 +4.5), UK (11,437 +4.5%). Total 85,984 +9.3%. MCIA figures for the UK are: motorcycles 13,190 +7.4%, total 14,137 +6.9%.
