scomadi launches new model at Thai show

Scooter manufacturer Scomadi is launching a new model – the Turismo Technica (TT). The launch follows quickly on the heels of the Lancashire company’s tie-up with a new factory in Thailand.

The world unveiling of the TT will take place at Bangkok International Motor Show (29 March – 9 April). Further details including engine sizes and specification will be released prior to the launch.

Paul Melici and Frank Sanderson have spent much of the last month working at the new manufacturing facility to oversee the set up of the production line ready for the first Thai production run, due to commence next month (April), starting with a Euro 3 version, closely followed by the Euro 4 version.

“As a taste of what is to come, we can reveal that the scooters will have a space-frame chassis manufactured from STKM11 steel and we have upgraded all pressed steel components with every part fully QC checked before it is assembled for welding,” said Melici, pictured left with an existing model of Scomadi.
