SUZUKI CUTS BIKE PRODUCTION

In a statutory notification to the Tokyo Stock Exchange issued on 25 December, Suzuki Motor Corporation has amended its domestic manufacturing output forecast during the company’s current financial year, owing to an ongoing motorcycle sales decline.

In the first three months of 2016, Suzuki will reduce bike production (excluding ATVs) by 10,000 units. The number of Japanese-made Suzuki powered two-wheelers in the full fiscal year to 31 March will therefore drop to 115,000 units, from a previous prediction of 125,000 units.
