VECTRIX UNPLUGGED AGAIN

Electric scooter manufacturer Vectrix has gone bust for the second time and appears to be on the verge of disappearance.

The company has opted for “Chapter 7 Bankruptcy” under US insolvency laws, which is generally a precursor of liquidation. Vectrix, which previously folded in 2009, closed down operations and dismissed its US workforce in December last year. However, Vectrix’s manufacturing plant in Poland is reportedly still active, completing a contract for the Daimler-Benz Smart subsidiary.

Vectrix filed documents at a US Bankruptcy Court which listed assets of between $1m and $10m and estimated liabilities of between $10m and $50m.
