BIKESURE AND LV BACK BLOOD BIKES

Adrian Flux Insurance, through its Bikesure motorcycle division, and underwriter LV have developed a dedicated cover package for the 2700 volunteers in the National Association of Blood Bikes (NABB). This is available to NABB riders with full licences who are at least 25 years old, on machines up to the value of £20,000.

NABB members provide a free service to the NHS by transporting urgent medical items, primarily blood supplies, between hospitals. In the past year, NABB riders made more 56,000 runs.

The idea originated from Bikesure, explained LV personal lines director Michael Lawrence: “It was looking for an insurer to underwrite the scheme and we had an excellent relationship with it already so we were delighted to help. It’s a really worthwhile endeavour and we’re proud to be able to support the National Association of Blood Bikes by providing an insurance solution with Flux.”

Adrian Flux general sales manager and motorcycle underwriting specialist Robert Balls added: “The volunteer riders of Blood Bikes groups do an absolutely fantastic and essential role and Bikesure has been long-time supporter. Understanding that the market for Blood Bike policies is somewhat restricted, Bikesure has been delighted to work very closely with one of the UK’s leading insurers. Together with LV, we have created an exclusive new scheme that will help reduce costs and provide essential cover for these groups.”
