Dealer takes on Yamaha, parts company with Piaggio

Mototechniks of Stowmarket has been appointed Premier Yamaha dealer for East Anglia. The news coincided with the company’s tenth anniversary celebrations, on 1 February.

Mototechniks – described as Suffolk’s premier motorcycle sales and service centre – is run by co-directors Simon Huntingford and Luke Reynolds (pictured) and the loyal team featured on its website. Well-known and experienced race specialist dealer for Aprilia and Moto Guzzi, Mototechniks has terminated its sales agreement with Piaggio Group but has reassured customers that service and spares back-up continues.

Reynolds told BDN: “We had this fantastic opportunity to take on Yamaha and even though we love the Italian brands, Yamaha’s wide range of all-sector product  made the decision easy.

“The recent Piaggio Group pricing we think now a tad expensive. We have a great repeat customer base  and will reassure them that our support continues for past and future sales.” He added: “It’s very important to us in our location that, whatever brand we sell, we  look after the customer because we do need to see him again. Trading up to a new Yamaha and extending the customer choice in all sectors? Yes, that’s exactly what we intend to do.”

Mototechniks was founded in December 2005  in a small unit before moving to its current premises at Tothill in 2011 to take on Aprilia, Piaggio, Vespa and Gilera. It later added Moto Guzzi.
