Expo golden ticket winners head to Classic TT

Three racing fans from the motorcycle trade have been given even more reason to look forward to the summer, thanks to insurance broker Bikesure.

Mike Garrod, 39, who works for Sinnis Motorcycles in Brighton; Kevin Thomas, 50, owner of KevsBikes near Merthyr Tydfil; and Alan Poole, 45, from SBT Motorcycle Training in Hertfordshire were chosen from 200 Golden Ticket holders invited to the recent 2015 Motorcycle Expo trade show, and each won a package trip to the Isle of Man Classic TT taking place in August.

The lucky trio will be taking their place among the Manx crowds this August Bank Holiday weekend, with weekend grandstand tickets for two, a ferry to and from the island and pre-erected camping facilities provided by Bikesure.

Garrod said: “I’ve had my eye on going to the Classic TT for years now, so finally getting the chance to head down there this year is just incredible. My girlfriend Carla and I are both huge bike fanatics so we’re both really pleased to have won.”

Thomas was equally thrilled. “I’ve been riding motorbikes for about 30 years but have never been to a MotoGP or anything like it, so the Classic TT is about the best introduction to racing I could have hoped for,” he said. “The bike garage I’ve been running for the past 20 years takes up a lot of my time, so the trip is going to be a lovely chance for me and my wife Caroline to get away for a weekend.”

Poole is relishing the chance to visit a TT for the second time: “I’ve been to the TT once before and loved every second of it. I wasn’t planning on going this year, so it’s come as a great surprise for me and my son Greg.”

Bikesure general manager Gerry Bucke said: “We rely on the dealer network to provide the best service to our customers, so it’s been nice to get the chance to help out and reward some of the people that make it all possible,” he added.
