EXPO: Stomping the opposition

Stomp Racing is the Honda of the pit bike market. In fact more so, as director Mark Meredith reckons it has 80 per cent of the UK market, making it the biggest seller in Europe. And the bikes are race winners, Stomp being the 2014 champions in the Minibike and 125 Superstock classes.

The off-road pit bikes are used for both leisure and racing, and Stomp currently offers a range of four, starting with the semi-auto Juicebox 110 (£549 retail) to the new-for-2015 Z2 140R (£1095), which now features a twin-beam chassis, more suspension travel and extra power.

Stomp has about 60 dealers across the country, but Meredith would like more. “Ideally we’d have a dealer in every market town,” he said, adding that the bigger cities weren’t the natural market for pit bikes.

The dealer margin is 40 per cent, spares are in stock and for children there’s the Stomp-branded balance bike, retailing at £45.
