mcams staff and BSB racers attend Bikesafe

Workers at McAMS accident management service have attended a Bikesafe course and were impressed by the improvement in their road-riding skills.

Dean Ellison, pictured centre, told BDN that the company had booked in all of its area sales managers, operations and finance directors, and sponsored British Superbike racers James Ellison and Michael Laverty on to the Bikesafe initiative run by the Metropolitan Police force at Bushy Sports Club in Watford.
“We took part in the morning classroom seminars and then followed up with road riding assessments, with one PC to two candidates,” said Dean. “Throughout the day we were advised, guided and then marked on what the police bikers had seen. Myself and James were teamed up with PC Paul Walker, he was very complimentary of our road riding.
“It was a good day and we’ve all been recommending it since. Our ASM’s are on their company bikes most of the time during spring, summer and autumn, so this was great opportunity to improve our road riding skills and understanding the road ahead.
“All of our ASM’s are now riding the Yamaha Tracer MT-09, the two directors have an MT-10, I have my R1, James Ellison was riding the MT-07 and Michael Laverty was on the Yamaha XSR700, so it was strong presence for Yamaha as well.”
