motorcyclist dies at test centre

A male motorcyclist has died in an accident at St Helens driving test centre. Emergency services were called to Navigation Road, St Helens, around 2pm on Monday, 11 March.

Police later confirmed a motorbike rider had suffered serious injuries and died. It is believed the incident happened at the driving test centre car park, with the motorcycle hitting a wall.

Police cordoned off the test centre and the rear of the Victoria House offices on Monday while an investigation took place.

The area is near the St Helens College Technology Campus.

North West Ambulance Service confirmed they were called just before 1.40pm to help a man in his 40s with “serious injuries”. An air ambulance attended but “despite the best efforts of first responders, the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene”.
