NEW BOSS AT BAUER MEDIA

Chris Duncan has become chief executive of Britain’s biggest motorcycling consumer magazine publisher Bauer Media. He replaces group managing director and former Motor Cycle News editor Rob Munro-Hall, who has been appointed president of Bauer Media’s global publishing business.

Prior to joining Bauer Media, the print portfolio of which still includes MCN and monthly titles such as Bike, RiDE and Classic Bike, Duncan held various senior management positions in “Dirty Digger” Rupert Murdoch’s News UK empire. There, he reportedly played a leading role in driving direct revenue growth as managing director of Times Newspapers, and more recently was managing director of Platform Partnerships, responsible for developing digital distribution revenues for News UK brands.

Duncan will report directly to Munro-Hall, whose elevation followed the departure for personal reasons of Sven Dams, who had jointly headed up Bauer Media Group’s publishing activities and been chief executive of Bauer’s German business.

Commenting on Duncan’s arrival, Munro-Hall commented: “I very much look forward to working with Chris. His broad experience and publishing expertise will help us retain and further extend our market-leading position in the UK.”
