New era as ‘hungry’ employees buy Staniforth

Two long-serving employees at Sheffield-based distributor Staniforth have bought the company from its founder, Peter Staniforth, who retired last month.

John Sheldon and Neil Ashmore will be partners in the business. “The company will still be called Staniforth,” Sheldon explained. “We have 1000 accounts, 800 of them active.

“We aim to get back out there and start building the business. We are very hungry,” Sheldon told BDN.

“We have actively been expanding our range of lines and new products for the past few months and plan to increase the pool of two reps and one agent.

“We will be advertising and promoting the company and attending Expo. We used to be pretty much stalwarts of Expo, attending every one. Then that became every other one and we have only done a couple in the past four or five years. We will be starting that up again as well.

“We are looking forward to the future with excitement.”

Ashmore and Sheldon concluded: “We would like to wish Peter well in his retirement, and look forward to many more years of continued success.”
