new name, new location for auction house

Bawtry Motor Auction Remarketing (BMAR)  holds its last bike auction at Bawtry, South Yorkshire, on Tuesday 15 March. After that it’s all change with a new identity – Motor Auction Group (MAG) – and a new location.

From 4 April MAG opens the doors of a new purpose-built centre at Greasbrough Road, Rotherham (S61 4QQ), South Yorkshire.

Said bike specialist Vikki Briggs: “We want to reassure customers that it’s the same great service, and the same friendly staff, but with a new name and new premises with bigger and better facilities.”

The first of MAG’s monthly bike auctions at Rotherham takes place on Tuesday, 19 April.

The company has started the year in top form selling 94 machines in January and 86 in February. MAG has been the UK’s leading auction house by volume over the past two years selling 818 bikes last year and 893 in 2014. The new makeover may help MAG hit 1000-plus sales in 2016.

MAG auctions attract 95% trade bidders and inventory this year is being strengthened thanks to a link with Close Finance. Other regular sources of stock may also be consigned, said Briggs who, in addition, is taking a closer look at including classic machines. MAG’s main business is cars. The house holds three car auctions a week.
