‘Prosperous’ year ahead for Suzuki

Suzuki is looking forward to a prosperous 2017, dealers were told at the manufacturer’s conference. The prediction was made by Suzuki GB general manager Paul de Lusignan in a speech to mark a raft of long-service awards.

“This year’s conference was a great opportunity to reflect on 2016 and to recognise the successes of many of our dealerships … As always, it was great to see so many dealers in attendance. With the new models and plans we have for 2017, I think we’re all in for a prosperous year.”

Eleven Suzuki dealerships with a combined service of 260 years were presented with awards at the finale to the manufacturer’s dealer conference at the end of last year. Just six of the 11 accounted for a remarkable 210 years of the total.

The presentation ceremony was held at the Metropole Hotel in Birmingham, and celebrated key dealer achievements in 2016, with recognition across the entire business.

Padgett’s Motorcycles of Batley and Frettons Motorcycles of Leamington Spa had the honour of collecting awards for an incredible half a century of service, while Ford and Ellis Motorcycles of Chesham marked 40 years.

KC Superbikes of Carlisle celebrated 30 years, while both Mission Motorcycles (Milton Keynes) and Fraser’s Motorcycles (Gloucester) marked 20 years as authorised Suzuki dealers. Five more dealerships were presented with awards for service, with Motoden (London), Saltire Motorcycles (Edinburgh), A&M Motorcycles (Letchworth Garden City), Daytona Motorcycles (Ruislip), and 5-Ways Motorcycle Centre (Hull) all celebrating a decade of commitment.

Away from the long service awards, Haslemere Motorcycles of Bordon picked up the coveted sales and marketing award, while Alford Bros of Folkestone was presented with the aftersales dealer of the year award.

The customer service satisfaction award went to Castledine Motorcycles of Leicester while Smalley Cross of Morley won the very first small bike dealer of the year award. Daytona Motorcycles collected the gong for accessory sales dealer of the year, while Wheels Motorcycles of Peterborough were awarded with the Suzuki finance award. Best SV650 dealer of the year went to Streetbike of Birmingham.

De Lusignan said: “To hand out long service awards that total 260 years makes me really proud, and reflects the working relationship we enjoy with our dealerships. Not only that, it was fantastic to be able to recognise other achievements across the board, and hand out a number of dealer of the year awards in various categories.”
