Safety-app maker in running for £30k prize

Durham-based REALsafe Technologies has been named as a North-East winner of the Great Faces of British Business competition. REALsafe launched a safety-based app for motorcyclists in February 2013 which detects if a rider has had a crash and contacts the emergency services with their last-known location and medical details..

The company is now in the running to win the national competition and the top prize of £30,000 worth of government support. Voting closes on Monday 23 February.

The competiton was launched in 2014 in association with BT Business to find the most innovative and exciting UK companies.
