'Traditional' distributor gives a nod to modernity

Established in 1947, Birmingham-based hard parts distributor Milverton prides itself on its old-school personal service. Now, as the company celebrates its 70th anniversary, there is talk of ‘moving the business forward’, plans for a website and online ordering – all with an assurance of continuity for traditional-minded dealers.

Milvertons, as it is more commonly known, has an annual turnover of £1.8 million and has been in profit for as long as its former tea boy and sweeper-up Wayne Cresswell, pictured, can remember. Now the general manager, he’s worked for the company for 36 years and feels the time is right to move it forward. The plan is for a website and online ordering, possibly for next year.
