yamaha launches social media campaign

Yamaha has appointed a public relations company to manage a social media campaign, including customer engagement, dealer support and promotions for all areas of the business.

The campaign will be run by Holeshot PR owner Harley Stephens, who worked for the Japanese manufacturer until 2006 in PR and racing roles.

The announcement comes as part of a restructuring of Yamaha Europe’s social media policy and Holeshot PR was approached on the back of its work in partner programmes for clients such as Öhlins and Pirelli.

Yamaha says the campaign will include “a strong heritage element but will also include live updates from events such as Motorcycle Live, Yamaha customer shows, dealer open days and world press launches”.

Jeff Turner, Yamaha Motor UK Marketing Manager, explained: “Social media is an integral and growing part of our PR and customer retention activities. We have been impressed with the promotions Holeshot PR has been involved with and together we have a fantastic plan to support our marketing activities for the coming year. Harley clearly needs no introduction to the world of Yamaha and his team have developed a wide array of techniques to amplify that knowledge into a strong programme.”

Harley Stephens added: “We are extremely proud to have been chosen by Yamaha to develop such a wide ranging social media campaign.”
