Used bike market analysis February 2026

Analysis of the used motorcycle and scooter markets by a selection of industry experts in convenient, easy-to-read tables and charts to help dealers keep up-to-date with the latest market trends.

Glass’s used market overview

The used motorcycle market has performed well over the past month, with several dealers reporting a strong December in terms of sales and interest. Throughout 2025, used sales remained buoyant and outperformed the new motorcycle sector. Demand was steady across a wide range of models, from 125cc scooters such as the Honda PCX125 to larger machines like the Kawasaki Z900. Some dealers have recently observed a rise in the number of older riders taking their tests and entering the market, potentially adding a new layer of demand.

Current stock availability is reported as “adequate”, though some dealers note a decline in consumer bike availability, suggesting that more riders are hanging on to their machines. Overall stock satisfaction remains positive, although good-quality 125cc machines remain patchy in supply.

Outlook

Following a mild December the opening 10 days of January were cold, with the first significant snow for some areas. At the time of writing, the weather has turned milder, but the threat of further snow and ice remains.

Glass’s does not expect any significant changes to motorcycle values overall in the coming weeks.

Surge in interest for value motorcycles

As the jaws of mid-winter bite, MCN readers remain engaged in browsing and researching bikes, keeping the marketplace lively despite fewer miles on the road.

In January, Honda cemented its position as lead brand for used bike interest, capturing 17% of sessions on the Bikes for Sale pages, mirroring December’s results and demonstrating continued strong interest in the brand and its model line-up. Triumph held firm in second place with 14%, while BMW maintained third place with 11%.

Naked bikes and adventure bikes remain the two dominant sales categories, now accounting for just over 20% each of user sessions. Continuing to be of high interest within the MCN community, sportsbikes still remain in third at 13% of sessions.

The Honda NC750X retains its pole position as the most-viewed model for sale, closely followed by the Kawasaki Z900RS and BMW S1000 RR.

In the Bike Reviews section, Honda has the very same 17% of sessions, although this represents a slight dip from December’s high. Triumph weighs in with 12% in second place, while BMW and Yamaha are joint third with 10% each. KTM’s 990 RCR and Yamaha’s XJ6 are still making waves among the top reviewed models. There is a notable increase in interest in value bikes, such as Hero’s Hunk 440 and Voge’s DS800X Rally.

Used motorcycle market sees demand outpace supply

In December, used bike sales on the Autotrader Bikes website increased by 11% compared to December 2024, and the overall health of the used bike market was rated at 12.8%.

Kawasaki’s A1 licence-friendly Ninja 125 led November’s sales chart, selling on average in 11 days. Honda’s CB125F and the Vespa GTS 300 also performed strongly, typically selling within two weeks. Notably, 125cc motorcycles made up 65% of the fastest-selling model list, underscoring strong demand and indicating that new riders are entering the market.

Autotrader Bikes has recorded twelve consecutive months of growth in the used motorcycle market, with double-digit increases posted in ten of those months.

December saw a modest improvement in market health, driven by sustained demand and a continued shortage of high-quality used stock. On average, used motorcycles are now selling within 49 days.
