Analysis of the used motorcycle and scooter markets by a selection of industry experts in convenient, easy-to-read tables and charts to help dealers keep up-to-date with the latest market trends.
Glass’s used market overview
As spring begins to turn towards summer, the used motorcycle market remains highly active, with sales and demand ahead of last year, according to feedback from many dealers.
When it comes to specific models, the Triumph Tiger GT Pro is a popular choice, with the adventure and naked segments continuing to perform strongly. Yamaha models, particularly the MT-07 and MT-09, remain consistently popular too. Harley-Davidson cruisers have seen an uptick in demand for some dealers, while the Yamaha R1 is a popular track-focused choice.
Stock availability is variable, with some dealers generating ample part exchanges, whilst others are having to be very proactive in sourcing adequate stock. Good quality 125cc machines remain difficult to come by.
Dealer stock levels are also variable, with some dealers understocked for the time of year, while other dealers report healthy levels of stock across a broad range of machines.
OUTLOOK
April was a very warm and dry month, offering ideal early-season riding conditions. At the time of writing, May has started on a fair note, and as summer rapidly approaches, the industry can hopefully look forward to some further great riding.
Glass’s does not expect any significant changes to values in the coming weeks.

Nakeds and sportsbikes gain ground
A fresh look at the MCN Bikes for Sale platform has delivered new insights from recent user data. In April, MCN recorded 53,562 bike searches, with 96% of users successfully finding their dream machine. The remaining 4% missed out due to bikes being out of stock or incorrect search terms.
Make and model remain the main search drivers, with around a third of users looking for a specific bike. Honda leads the search charts, but Harley-Davidson, ranked eighth, saw the biggest jump in growth from April to May, likely boosted by better weather. Adventure bikes remain the top search category, but demand for naked, sport, and classic bikes is growing as summer approaches.
Price is a critical factor as more than 44% of searches target bikes under £5000, and only 7.5% of visitors to the platform search for bikes above £10,000.
Searches and page views increased from April to May, reflecting rising interest in the used market. MCN’s Bike Review page data follows the same patterns, with Honda the most viewed brand, and naked bikes accounting for 30% of traffic.
Overall, MCN web visitors continue to appear research-driven, utilising the new MCN Bikes for Sales tool, making clear, price-conscious decisions, and, with the continuing trend of sunnier days, drawing people to naked bikes and sportsbikes as the season builds.

Demand shifts to larger bikes
In March, the used motorcycle market gained momentum, with Autotrader Bikes reporting an 8% year-on-year increase in sales. While market health held steady at 15.4%, this figure represents a four-point improvement from last year.
Kawasaki’s Ninja 125 was the fastest-selling model, averaging just six days to sell, and demand for entry
In April, used bike sales on the Autotrader Bikes website increased by 7% compared to April last year, and the overall health of the used bike market was rated at 19%, the highest it’s been since July 2025.
Honda’s budget-friendly GB350S led April’s sales charts, selling on average in just five days. BSA’s Gold Star and Lexmoto’s Michigan 125 cruiser also performed strongly, typically selling within a week. On average, used bikes are selling within 31 days, the quickest this year by some margin. Notably, 125cc machines accounted for only 25% of the top 20 fastest-selling models, suggesting that that higher-priced bikes are in demand in dealers’ showrooms.
Autotrader Bikes has now experienced 12 consecutive months of growth in the used motorcycle sector. Of those, seven months saw double-digit increases and April saw a big improvement in market health, driven by sustained demand and a continued shortage of high-quality used stock.
