JULY DOWN FOR BMW

BMW Motorrad’s global retail sales continue to deteriorate. During July, the brand suffered a 2.7% decline to 13,792 motorcycles and maxiscooters.

For the seven months of 2016, BMW is still positive, up by 2.1% to 94,546 units. But the company’s weakening world-wide position in the first half of the year wasn’t helped by revelations from North America. It has emerged that six-monthly US sales in a previously growing market plummeted by 24.5% to just 6897 bikes.
