PROFIT UP AT MCE

High-profile specialist motorcycle broker MCE Insurance has posted a modest revenue increase and big jump in earnings in latest full financial year results to 31 May 2014.

MCE, which is owned and managed by the Edwards family, grew annual turnover by 1.6 per cent to £23.5m. It declared a profit of £46,863 — up from a mere £4249 in the previous year.

A report accompanying this statement said: “The directors are of the opinion that the coming financial year will continue to be challenging, with the company facing increased competition, resulting in industry pressures.”

But they intend to increase revenue by “exploring new opportunities in the insurance market” and counteract such challenges by a focus on sales, as well as a cost monitoring and control programme.

MCE remains as headline sponsor of the MSV-promoted British Superbike Championship in 2015.
