STAR TURN FROM KTM

Europe’s largest motorcycle manufacturer KTM has unveiled its best-ever sales volume and revenue in nine-monthly financial results to 30 September.

With a 29.1 per cent sales increase to 115,731 units in the three quarters of 2014 to date, KTM’s revenue rose by 20.4 per cent to £504.3m. Operating profit was up by 34 per cent to £47.9m and pre-tax profit climbed by 41 per cent to £44.1m.

The company said that the launch of its 1290 SuperDuke and the new Husqvarna model range were crucial contributory factors for this success. And it now claims an 8.4 per cent share of the total European market.
