Bajaj bangs its half-yearly drum

KTM chief commercial officer Stephan Reiff, has presented a raft of progress details for the Austrian-based firm’s recovery.

“My executive board colleagues Gottfried Neumeister and Petra Preining have released the half-year and Q2 figures for KTM and Bajaj Mobility,” reported Reiff. “With the Q2 figures, we are sending another strong commercial signal that momentum is building. Motorcycle sales increased by a further 20.7% compared with Q1, reaching 48,672 units across the KTM, Husqvarna and GasGas brands, while motorcycle revenue grew to €307.3m,” he claimed. “In a market that remains challenging, these results stand out. They show that our brands are performing strongly and that customers continue to respond to the products we are bringing to market. For us on the commercial side, the focus now is clear: keep that momentum going. With a strong product line-up, close collaboration with our fantastic dealer network and an uncompromising focus on our customers, there is a lot to build on in the second half of the year.”

Reiff went on to explain that, according to the numbers presented by Gottfried Neumeister, Bajaj Mobility’s Q2 2026 results show further improvement across key operating metrics. Revenue was up 11.7% compared with Q1, and profitability also improved significantly. The EBITDA margin increased from 1.7% in Q1 to 8.7% in Q2, and operating profit turned positive, at €1.3m, for the first time since the restructuring proceedings were completed.

“These results reflect the continued impact of the restructuring measures, lower overhead costs and a more efficient organisation,” he added. “At the same time, demand for our motorcycles remains strong, even in a challenging market environment.” Rieff concluded by saying: “A big thank you to our teams and especially our retail partners around the world who are making this possible.”
