British come second in battle of the kings

Shaw Harley-Davidson of Lewes was runner-up in this year’s Battle of the Kings competition, hailed as Europe’s largest bike customisation contest.

The contest involves dealers customising an Iron 883, Forty-Eight or Roadster from Harley-Davidson’s Dark Custom Sportster range within an agreed budget.

A total of 191 machines were entered into the competition with just 10 – each judged as the Custom King within their own market – squaring up for the grand finale at this year’s EICMA motorcycle show, which is taking place in Milan until 12 November.

The winner was the dealer from Perugia in Italy, pictured. The 10 dealerships presenting the regional Custom King entries were:

•    Harley-Davidson La Rochelle, France
•    Shaw Harley-Davidson, UK
•    Harley-Davidson Linz, Austria
•    Motor Saloon, Benelux
•    Harley-Davidson Lodz, Poland
•    Harley-Davidson Pfeiffer, Germany
•    Harley-Davidson Lisbon, Iberian Peninsula
•    Harley-Davidson Perugia, Italy
•    Harley-Davidson Alesund, Nordic
•    Harley-Heaven, Dietikon, Switzerland
