foggy at TT

The Isle of Man TT race programme for today (Tuesday 4 June) has been cancelled, owing to hill fog affecting sections of the circuit — which means Airmed rescue helicpters cannot operate — and persistent rain showers forecast throughout the day.

ACU clerk of the course Gary Thompson announced his decision shortly before 9.30am, after discussions with meteorologists at the island’s Ronaldsway airport. Primary victim was the TT Superstock event, which had already been rescheduled from the previous day.

A revised schedule for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be issued shortly. Although racing on Saturday is also theoretically possible, an extension into the weekend will be unlikely, owing to a shortage of course marshals as visitors head for home.
