Success for Ducati on both sides of the Atlantic

Ducati has reported its highest-ever retail bike sales in North America during 2012, with a 21 per cent overall increase to 10,883 units – affirming this region as the brand’s leading global market.

US motorcycle sales grew by 21 per cent, Canada was up by 25 per cent and Mexico added seven per cent. The company says its North American apparel and accessories sales also registered a new record with a muscular annual improvement of 42 per cent.

Ducati North America chief executive Cristiano Silei commented: “Ducati’s new all-time sales record and the consistent growth in all North American markets confirm our customers’ extremely positive response to our products and marketing programmes. We are fully geared to continue this growth in 2013 with many highly-anticipated new products and our strongest dealer network to date.”

Britain also delivered a positive 2012 performance for Ducati, albeit on a more modest scale. Its full-year UK registrations bucked a declining over-500cc sales trend, rising by 2.9 per cent to 2407 units.
