TEXTRON KNIVES OUT AT ARCTIC CAT

Since its acquisition by Textron through its Specialized Vehicles division in early March, American ATV and snowmobile manufacturer Arctic Cat is being absorbed into a newly created Textron Off-Road entity incorporating Textron’s previously Bad Boy branded ATV subsidiary. As detailed by Roger Willis in his On The Money column appearing in BDN’s May issue, this process is going to be both rapid and ruthless, motivated by big objectives.

First concrete sign has been a comprehensive cull of senior Arctic Cat management. Responding to press enquiries about its extent, Textron Specialized Vehicles chief executive Kevin Holleran issued the following carefully-worded statement:

“As we integrate Arctic Cat, we have realigned our leadership team accordingly so that we can operate as a single, cohesive organisation. As a result, many members of the leadership team of the former Arctic Cat have moved on. The circumstances of each departure were different. In some cases, we eliminated duplicate roles across our organisation, while in others, former Arctic Cat leaders decided to use this transition to pursue other career opportunities.”
