VW CONSIDERING DUCATI DISPOSAL

According to global business information providers Reuters and Bloomberg, Volkswagen Group is soliciting buyers for its Ducati subsidiary.

New-broom VW chief executive Matthias Müller had commissioned investment bank Evercore to conduct a strategic review of non-core assets, with a view to cashing them in, several months ago. Ducati is at the head of this list and VW’s Audi division reportedly started to contact potential bidders for the Italian motorcycle marque almost immediately, with several expressing interest.

However, Bloomberg sources say no decision on a Ducati sale has been made and VW may still choose to retain the bike brand. Spokesmen for Evercore, VW and Audi all declined to comment.
