Peterborough-based specialist motorcycle insurance broker BeMoto has recruited Luke Brackenbury as its head of brand and marketing. 

Brackenbury has worked in the motorcycle industry for 23 years, initially in journalism as a staff member on Bauer Media motorcycling titles, and then latterly in a series of marketing, events and PR roles. He joins BeMoto from a previous position as PR, brand and events manager at big-league specialist bike broker Bennetts. Before that, he represented Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM as PR manager for its street bike segment. 

“I’ve closely followed the journey that BeMoto has made since launch,” said Brackenbury. ‘And what the team has achieved in terms of policy count and brand awareness in such a short space of time is incredible. Customer reviews speak for themselves and this is a company that genuinely cares about riders and understands motorcycling. It has big plans and I’m excited to help achieve them.”

Established in 2015 with product coverage for the whole of the UK, BeMoto is owned and operated by Mathew Long, Nick Fenton and Ben Blake. Between them, they boast more than 50 years’ experience in financial services and insurance. Like Brackenbury, they are all recent refugees from Bennetts. Respectively, Long rose to become Bennetts commercial and operations director, Fenton was head of commercial development for products and Blake served as a senior commercial development manager.

Commenting on Brackenbury’s appointment, BeMoto managing director Long added: “I’m extremely happy to welcome Luke to the BeMoto team. His wealth of experience will be of great benefit to our brand and he will play a big part in pushing BeMoto’s awareness further. We’ve worked with Luke previously in a consultancy, role when the company was at a very young stage. But now BeMoto is in a position to have his full attention to help deliver our goals.”
