Brackley trade bonanza

Roger Charlesworth, co-founder and treasurer of Brackley Festival of Motorcycling, is promising the biggest ever trade presence for the ninth edition on Sunday, 13 August in the Northamptonshire town.

The charity event has established itself as the UK’s premier town centre bike bonanza, and carries the kudos of running grand prix road race bikes in the high street.

“In the last two years alone we have raised £60,000 for the air ambulance,” says road race fanatic Charlesworth, who is working on a stellar line-up of road race bikes including five factory Desmosedici Ducatis.

“The road race bikes in the high street sets Brackley apart,” says the road race element organiser who is also hoping to get Chris Vincent’s 1962 TT-winning BSA sidecar outfit to be ridden at Brackley by current TT stars the Birchall brothers.

“Wollaston BMW is the major sponsor,” adds Charlesworth. “We should also have Harley-Davidson, Triumph, Suzuki, Ducati, Honda, Yamaha, Husqvarna and Herald. The main manufacturers will all have their big trucks there, and there will be other trade and autojumble stands.”
