Crescent hires TT ace Hillier

Multi-talented motorcycling sportsman James Hillier has joined the Crescent Yamaha dealership at Verwood in Dorset, to support its GYTR Pro Shop division.

At the specialist facility, one of only four in the UK approved by Yamaha Motor Europe, Hillier will be helping customers to ensure race and track-day bikes, along with associated equipment, are best suited to their experience and budget. In addition, he will work with them to develop bike set-up and riding technique on coaching days.

With his CV already featuring 56 Isle of Man TT finishes, 52 silver replicas, 14 podiums, victory in the 2013 Lightweight TT and status as seventh-fastest TT rider in history thanks to a 132.414mph lap, Hillier certainly isn’t short of experience pertinent to his new role at Crescent. Still highly competitive under the Rich Energy OMG Racing banner at selected British Superbike meetings, he is looking forward to the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT road races returning next year, as well as a debut off-road entry in the 2022 Dakar Rally.

Commenting on the appointment, Crescent supremo Paul Denning said: “James Hillier has all the credentials we could possibly look for in someone to take our GYTR Pro Shop customer service to the next level. He may be one of the world’s best road racers, but more importantly James is down-to-earth, enthusiastic and already has experience in the motorcycle industry.”
