ducati scrambler is best bike of 2015, says auto trader

The Ducati Scrambler has been named Best Bike of 2015 by online market-place Auto Trader.

Experts from Auto Trader Bikes rode hundreds of miles, testing every new bike on sale in the UK to shortlist category winners, as well as whittling down the entrants to find the overall Best Bike of 2015.

Ducati UK MD Tim Maccabee said: “Ducati UK is delighted to receive this prestigious award for the Ducati Scrambler. The Scrambler has exceeded all of our expectations for sales in 2015 and seems really to have captured the imagination of the public. We’ve been especially pleased that it has attracted interest outside of our existing customer base and even from non-motorcyclists, which is good not only for us but for motorcycling in general.”

Meanwhile, Honda’s frugal CB125F and innovative NC750X commuter were also awarded Best Bike titles in their respective categories.

Taking the prize for Best A1 machine – for riders restricted to 125cc – Honda’s new CB125F was praised for its “ease of use and sheer value for money”.

Auto Trader editor-in-chief and head judge Jon Quirk praised it as the perfect starter bike: “If you want a user friendly motorcycle to start your career on two wheels, it doesn’t get friendlier than the CB125F.  It’s a really solid package with amazing fuel economy.”

The NC750X, with outstanding fuel economy, was named Best Commuter for the second year running.
