Ex-servicemen appeal for sponsors for charity trek

Two former servicemen who are undertaking a 15,000-mile charity motorcycle trip through 26 European capital cities have called for aid from sponsors in their endeavour.

Harry Glover and Pete Bray, of 4/73 Special OP Battery and 22 SAS, are looking for sponsors to provide them with motorcycles for the journey.

Code-named ‘Triumph over Tragedy’ (, Harry and Pete will travel to all 26 European Union capital cities in an effort to raise funds and awareness for their chosen charities.

Starting at Buckingham Palace, the two will travel as far North as Helsinki, as far East as Bucharest and as far South as Athens.

The bikes will be returned at the end of the trip, having been a part of a once-in-a-lifetime event.

Harry Glover said: “These charities make an immeasurable difference to the lives of servicemen and women who have given so much.

“We are looking for sponsors to help in any way they can, from providing bikes to providing food, to help change countless lives.”

Harry and Pete will be motorcycling in aid of three charities very close to their hearts. British Limbless Ex-Service Men’s Association (BLESMA – and Soldiers off the Streets ( work tirelessly to provide better lives for soldiers who return from active service, offering food, shelter and support to those who need it.

The two will also be riding in aid of the Alder Hey Children’s Charity (, a cause that both riders are huge fans of.

With just a few weeks to go until the start of the trip, Harry and Pete are looking for sponsors to help provide food, fuel and equipment for the journey.

Harry and Pete are directors of Birkenhead-based firm Primarius Ltd (, which provides security services and training to businesses and personnel around the world.
