fowlers thanks everyone who helped win merit award

Fowlers Parts has thanked everyone who voted for it in the BDN Industry Awards 2017. The company collected a merit in the hotly contested Wholesaler of the Year category for the third successive year.

“If you’re one of the many dealers who voted for us, we’d like to say a big ‘thank you!’,” said Pete Aitkenhead, parts and contact centre manager.

Aitkenhead, who began his career with Fowlers in the 1970s, collected the BDN merit certificate from ex-racer and TV commentator Steve Parrish, at a ceremony attended by 300 motorcycle industry personnel.

Parrish said: “Over the years, Fowlers Parts has been a prolific award winner. In a nutshell, dealers vote for the company because they like what Fowler does and how it does it. As official spares distributors for 13 motorcycle and scooter manufacturers, the Fowlers Bristol operation is massive, easily the largest in the UK and probably Europe. Its call centre has a staff of 30 and in the fully automated warehouse, there are another 25. On a normal day, it will have 150,000 live lines ready to go, and to make sure it all happens and that indicator lens gets to the customer within 24 hours.”

The awards ceremony was held at the end of the first day of Expo, where Aitkenhead and his team were, as well as general promotion work, displaying an automated carousel picking machine to show how easy it is to use Fowlers’ Electronic Parts Catalogue [EPC] system.

“If you didn’t make it to the trade show,” Aitkenhead says, “this short video will give you an insight into the operation that delivers your spares;

“In addition to this vast range of genuine parts from Yamaha, Vespa, Triumph, Suzuki, Piaggio, Moto Guzzi, KTM, Kawasaki, Honda, Gilera, Derbi and Aprilia, you can now order Silkolene’s  leading range of motorcycle lubricants and maintenance products, plus a comprehensive selection motorcycle clothing, accessories and helmets under the banner of The Key Collection.”
