HONDA INCREASES MARKET SHARE — QUARTERLY ANALYSIS

Honda maintained strong leadership in the first three months of 2015. Its UK registrations tally increased by 11.9% to 4840 units. This represented a 19.2% overall market share, up from 19.1% in the same period last year.

Yamaha was runner-up, with a rise of 13.9% to 3120 units, starting to close the market share gap with 12.4%, against 12.1% a year earlier.

BMW Motorrad put on a muscular 20.3% to 2105 units, grabbing the final podium step from Triumph year-on-year as its quarterly market share grew from 7.7% to 8.3%.

Relegated into fourth place, Triumph nevertheless improved by 9.5% to 2038 units. However, its market share declined from 8.2% to 8.1%.

Rounding out the top five, Kawasaki shifted 14.2% more bikes, totalling 1775 units. Market share climbed from 6.9% to 7%.
