Late-season auction rush

Four auction houses are looking for some late-season business by adding classic bikes to their end of year classic car auctions – Bonhams, Cheffins, Coys, and H&H.

Cheffins kicks off by inviting bikes for its Bristol vintage sale on Saturday, 29 November.

Bonhams goes for blue chip glory in the shape of a 1929 Brough Superior SS100 Alpine Grand Sports (estimate £270,000-£320,000) and 1950 Vincent Black Shadow (£70,000-£90,000) at its New Bond Street, London headquarters on Sunday 30 November.

Coys’ motorcycle specialist Anthony Godin promises about 20 bikes to spice its ‘True Greats’ classic car sale at Lindley Hall, London SW1 on Tuesday 2 December. Early entries include a 1931 Indian-4 (£70,000-£80,000) and a 1981 ex-Ron Haslam race bike.

And H&H is expecting at least ten two-wheelers for its Wednesday 3 December fixture at Chateau Impney, Worcestershire. Early entries include Honda, Matchless and Yamaha race bikes and Yamaha, BSA and Honda road bikes.
