It’s party time at Llexeter, where the 15th birthday wish is for the continuing success of the Lexmoto brand of budget Chinese motorcycles.
Exeter-based Llexeter celebrates its 15th anniversary in October, with signs that its Lexmoto brand of learner-legal Chinese motorcycles is enjoying a resurgence following the “perfect storm” of Euro 4 transition and bumpy Brexit exchange rates.
“The more the merrier” applies to most parties, and the birthday festivities in south Devon’s capital have been given another boost by the rapid expansion since its launch at Motorcycle Trade Expo in 2016 of the company’s Lextek brand of mainly Chinese-sourced aftermarket parts and accessories.
“Everything is moving in a really strong, positive direction, but the past two years have been a transition for us as a business,” said business development manager Dan Frost, who joined the company in 2011 and has overseen a monthly peak of 1200 PTWs despatched in April 2016. “I certainly think that with Euro 4 coming in, it has been a process of us looking at the business and identifying what has been working well and what hasn’t – the things we needed to spend some time looking over.
“It’s always about moving forward and trying to do things bigger and better. In business you can never be complacent, and if you are not moving forward you are moving backwards.”
