mcia responds to DVSA statement on training

The Motor Cycle Industry Association has responded to the publication earlier today of the DVSA’s plan to change motorcycle training.

Karen Cole, the MCIA’s safety and training director, told BDN: “The MCIA welcomes the publication of responses to the consultation on modernising motorcycle training and looks forward to working with the DVSA significantly to improve rider safety in the future.

“It is important that powered two wheelers remain accessible as they are the only affordable form of personal transportation. We are concerned that the introduction of further cost at the lowest point of entry may harm the market and therefore the MCIA will be working closely with the DVSA to ensure whatever the final outcome, it is to create safer roads and not to create additional barriers.”
